Since graduation from the Eastman School of Music “with Distinction” and the Performer’s Certificate, cellist Carter Enyeart has enjoyed a distinguished career.
His broad experience as soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player and teacher has
established his reputation as one of the leading artist/teachers in the country. His appearances as soloist, chamber musician and recording artist have been acclaimed throughout the United States and in the music capitols of Europe, South America and Asia.
As a teacher, he has established an enviable record of success, and has served on the faculties of Ball State University, Northwestern University, and the University of North Texas College of Music prior to his current position at the Conservatory of Music & Dance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City campus. Many of his students have gone on to major schools of music for graduate study, and earned positions in professional orchestras or academia where they are praised for their musicality, sound production and solid technique. Enyeart has presented recitals and master classes in music schools across the United States and in Sao Paulo, Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok. He is Director of the summer Kansas City Cello Clinic held each June for serious cello students from across the country. His recorded CD performance of the Cello Sonata by Robert Muczynski was described in
Fanfare Magazine as “…an extraordinary performance…a reading of unerring precision and blistering intensity”.
