Clarinetist and native Kansas Citian Leah Biber received her bachelor of music degree at the Northwestern University School of Music, where she studied clarinet withrenowned pedagogue, Russell Dagon. She continued her music education at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, where she received a master's degree in clarinet performance, studying with David Peck and Thomas LeGrand. While living in Houston, Ms. Biber performed regularly with the Houston Chamber Orchestra. She has attended such prestigious summer festivals as the Domaine Forget, Pierre Monteux, Aspen, and Sarasota Music festivals, participating in solo master classes with Ricardo Morales, Burt Hara, Charles Neidich, and Frank Cohen. While living in Chicago, Ms. Biber played with various groups such as the Chicago Philharmonia, the Illinois Philharmonic, Opera Moda, the Park Ridge Civic Orchestra, and the Rockford Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Biber is a doctoral candidate at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and is professor of clarinet at Regis University. Ms. Biber is an avid runner, cyclist, and swimmer, and spends a lot of her time outside of performance related activities training for endurance sports such as marathons and triathlons.
